Nick Lucena has at least One More Chapter

hosted by The Sandcast Podcast

Nick Lucena is one of the greatest personalities that has been on the AVP Domestic Tour and the FIVB World Tour. With 16 AVP titles and 8 FIVB titles he has continued to thrive and at 42 years old was still able to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a defender alongside one of his best friends Phil Daulhauser. Nick Lucena is not only a great competitor but he is also a really fun character. This podcast is one of our favorites because it showcases Nick Lucenas’ fun vibes with the younger generation of Hawaiins that are thriving on the AVP. Even though they are all having a good time joking with each other, the respect and love between these guys is without doubt.

Our most shocking revelation from this podcast is learning that Nick Lucena played one season as a full time blocker with John Hyden. Nick Lucena is one of the best defenders in the history of beach volleyball but he seems to love every chance he gets to play at the net and get a block or two. Nick and Phil Dalhauser even played an entire AVP event split blocking. They even made it to the finals! This showcases the amount of fun he can have on the court. We look forward to Nick Lucena continuing to thrive and be one of the most entertaining players on tour… because he has at least another chapter.
